Set in the natural park âParaje Natural de Sierra Bermejaâ this cottage is a haven of quietness encircled by countryside, yet only 5 minutesâ drive from the whitewashed village of Casares (3 km) and 25 minutesâ drive from the bustling towns, beaches and golf courses of the Costa. Tastefully furnished and decorated throughout, this house is especially recommended for a couple that wants to be âaway from it allâ and recharge batteries!

The walks range in difficulty from casual strolls to hikes depending on the routeâs elevation. The area is a bird lovers paradise and many varieties of birds can be can be spotted. Vultures and eagles can be seen from the los Buitres (âthe Vulturesâ) viewpoint. You may also get a glimpse of a deer, an ibex or a wild boar. The village of Casares is one of the most typical villages in Andalucia, a labyrinth of small streets and little squares. Here you will find family run shops, restaurants and tapas-bars. If youâre able to tear yourself away from this idyllic spot, go for a stroll through historic Ronda or visit Malaga with its recently inaugurated Centre Pompidou and the Picasso museum. The cottage is reached by a dirt road (in good condition) and set in a glorious 12-acre farm estate with lush forests of cork oak, scented pines and chestnuts, wild flower meadows, delightful gardens and a lovely private swimming pool where you may laze on sunny afternoons enjoying pristine blue skies with eagles gliding overhead. At the entrance of the cottage, a flower festooned private patio equipped with teak sun beds, has stunning mountain views. The friendly and helpful property owner, Kate, also lives on the estate herself now and then. The cottage is privately-sited, and you wonât see Kate except to welcome you, and help if required.
With all rooms on one floor, the cottage is a romantic, studio-like property that has been tastefully furnished by the owners providing a good level of comfort and a rustic ambience with beamed ceilings and a lovely stained glass window. The cottage boasts a king-size double bed and handsome furnishings in the spacious open plan living/sleeping suite with a sitting area equipped with TV, video and a music centre.A wooden panelled door to the right leads to a vibrantly - coloured bathroom with hand â painted Andalucian tiles. While to your left there is a compact kitchen with 4 rings gas hob, over, fridge, toaster and water cooker. A washing machine and iron + board are placed in a facility room at a short distance from the property and shared with Cottage Casares 002. A welcome hamper and free WiFi is provided.

So peaceful
Second time we've stayed here, can't recommend it too highly. Beautiful spot in a nature reserve, eagles soaring overhead, millions of stars at night as there is very little light pollution. Very peaceful, relaxing and secluded. Kate the owner is lovely but leaves you completely alone unless you need her. You have your own pool, sitting by the pool late afternoon as the sun goes down behind the mountain across the valley is stunning. The nearest village, Casares, is stunning and there are very good restaurants within a couple of miles. Wonderful place, wonderful holiday.

Paradise
The cottage itself was beautifully decorated and well equipped and we really enjoyed the outdoor space. It is surrounded by breathtaking scenery and is incredibly peaceful. A walk into the nature reserve is a must do! Kate, is a wonderful host and is on hand to answer any questions. The nearest town is Casares which has some lovely bars and restaurants, but the cottage is also well situated for exploring other parts of Andalucia. We can't wait to return.

Rustic, away fom it all, birdwatchers paradise!
A nearby but individual property. 'Completely isolated' in amongst the woodland... We loved it... It is a single story place, bedroom and living room in same room. A small but adequate kitchen. Lovely toilet /shower room. Lots of hot water. There are lots of paths to explore and walk along. We hardly spent time indoors. There were very few people around, other than birdlife. Booted Eagles, Egyptian Eagle, Honey Buzzards Migrating and other numerous 'little birds' that my hubby loves. Flowers are amazing at this time of year.... We only drove once to stock up on food and wine as bought provisions on the way at 'Canada' retail park (per owner 'Kate' instructions). We advise seriously stock up. It's a very big cheap supermarket. We will be staying again and we never stay at a place more than once.
