Maisons sur la côte
Grâce à son emplacement dans le parc naturel de la Sierra Crestellina, cette maison est un merveilleux sanctuaire contre le stress quotidien. Le paysage est magnifique et vivre ici dans votre propre petit paradis si proche de la nature est un réel refuge difficile à trouver. Pourtant, si vous souhaitez passer une journée à la plage ou jouer dans l'un des nombreux terrains de golf dans la région, vous êtes seulement à un court trajet en voiture de toutes les commodités que la côte a à offrir.
En 1989, la Sierra Crestellina («Crested Range ») devient officiellement un site naturel protégé, câest un parc naturel. Ce chalet traditionnel de 100 ans en pierre est situé au milieu de toute cette beauté et était utilisé comme la maison d'une famille d'agriculteurs. Il est situé juste au nord de Casares (3 km) - un village andalou très pittoresque et un vrai labyrinthe de maisons blanchies à la chaux, avec des petites rues, ruelles et petites places. Casares a de nombreux magasins, de bons restaurants et bars à tapas. Voyager au nord de Casares peut vous conduire à la vieille ville de Ronda avec son impressionnante gorge ou pour un voyage plus long de la belle, ville légendaire de Séville. Il y a beaucoup d'autres options touristiques avec des excursions d'une journée aussi.
Pour ceux qui aiment marcher, il existe de nombreuses possibilités avec des difficultés variées. Il y a plusieurs chemins que vous pouvez suivre, mais ne manquez pas le chemin vers le sommet de la Sierra Crestellina : les vues sont spectaculaires et couvrent les continents. Choisissez une journée claire et une fois là , vous aurez des vues impressionnantes sur 360 ° les villages environnants de Casares et Gaucin et sur la mer Méditerranée, à Gibraltar et au Maroc. La région est aussi un paradis pour les amateurs d'oiseaux et de nombreuses variétés d'oiseaux peuvent être repérées. Des vautours et des aigles peuvent être observés du point de vue des Buitres ("les Vautours"). Vous pouvez également apercevoir des cerfs, bouquetins ou sangliers. Le chalet est accessible par une partie bétonnée / partie route de terre (en bon état) et est situé dans une ferme magnifique de 12 hectares avec des forêts luxuriantes de chêne-liège, pins et châtaignes parfumés, prairies de fleurs sauvages et jardins délicieux. La piscine privée dispose de chaises longues en teck et est entourée de magnifiques jardins et de grands cyprès. Il s'harmonise magnifiquement dans le paysage et ressemble à un ressort naturel où vous pourrez vous prélasser les après-midi ensoleillés bénéficiant de ciel bleu immaculé avec des aigles volant au-dessus. A l'entrée du chalet il y a une terrasse pavée en pierre, l'endroit idéal pour manger en plein air et profiter des jardins luxuriants. Il est équipé d'un barbecue, table, chaises et un parasol pour l'ombre. La propriétaire sympathique et serviable, Kate, vit également sur le domaine de temps en temps. La maison est privée, et vous ne verrez pas Kate sauf pour vous accueillir, et vous aider si nécessaire.
à l'intérieur, le chalet est un refuge romantique qui a été meublé avec goût par Kate, la propriétaire, offrant un bon niveau de confort et une ambiance rustique avec des plafonds aux poutres en bois de châtaigniers apparentes et des sols en terre cuite rose. Le chalet dispose d'un lit double king-size et de beaux meubles dans une grande pièce à vivre avec salon / chambre à coucher avec confortable fauteuils, TV, DVD et un centre de musique.Une vieille porte arquée sur la gauche mène à une salle de bains colorée avec des carreaux andalous peints à la main. A droite, se trouve une cuisine compacte équipée de 4 feux à gaz, un four, un réfrigérateur / congélateur, un grille-pain et une bouilloire. Une machine à laver et un fer à repasser + une planche sont placés dans une buanderie située à une courte distance de la propriété et sont partagés avec le chalet Casares 001. Un pack de bienvenue avec le WiFi gratuit est fourni.

The villa is set in a wooded valley with wonderful views across to the Sierra Cresallina. A short walk takes you to a very private swimming pool with fantastic views up to the hills. Good walking and wonderful birdlife. Plenty of migrating birds when we arrived in September bringing eagles, falcons and hawks as well as resident griffon vultures. We planned to travel a lot and never did, preferring to stay put and enjoy the locality with occasional trips to the beautiful nearby town of Casares. The accommodation is rustic but lovely - good shower and small kitchen and you'll sit outdoors much of the time.

Paradise in the Mountains
We spent almost 3 weeks at the idyllic cottage in the mountains above Casares. The location is perfect for ensuring total relaxation with amazing views, great sounds of goats with bells and the company of two lovely dogs, Alfie and Emily. Overhead, eagles glide in the most balletic of movements. Kate, the owner, is very, very helpful from the initial stages of booking and throughout the stay. There are plenty of amazing places to visit around this region, equally great places to walk and on those days off when you want to chill, there is a lovely private pool where you can sit and read or snooze. We have had one of the most relaxing holidays ever and while the short road presented an initial challenge, I had it mastered in no time at all. Casares is a stunning little village. You will find most things you require there but within a short trip to Sabinillas you will find a range of supermarkets. Estepona is close by too. If you seek something a little more expensive, take a look at Sotogrande. We didn't like it but accepted that it would appeal to a certain type of person. Take a look anyways. Coming to this cottage will ensure that you relax. It is a very special place. Enjoy.

The most relaxing holiday ever
I stayed here for almost two weeks with my teenage daughter. This cottage is a rare find - a holiday cottage just for two, in unspoiled, private, peaceful, tranquil surroundings, with spectacular mountain views and its very own private, beautiful, swimming pool. This property has all those things. The cottage is reached by a mountain track, which although is a bit daunting at first, is absolutely no problem. Its position up the mountain is what gives it its views, charm and beauty. This is the kind of place that you do not need to leave, just reading, swimming and being by the pool surrounded by such beautiful nature ensures total relaxation. Nearby is the pretty small town of Casares where a handful of simple restaurants are available for meals. We used the Carrefour in nearby Estepona for grocery shopping, about a 25 minute drive away, it is closed on Sundays though so if you plan to arrive on a Sunday take enough food to get you through the first day. Actually my advice for this cottage is arrive in Spain, go to the grocery store and buy all you for a week, go to the cottage and enjoy! The cottage is simple but decorated in a traditional, pleasing way with all mod cons and excellent WIFI availability for those who need it. The little kitchen is well stocked with utensils etc. for easy cooking. The thick walls of the cottage and a simple fan ensure the cottage stays cool even though temperatures can be high during the day. Kate the English owner was on hand if we needed her and responded to all my queries / requests immediately. She was very kind and helpful, living in the house next door, but did not intrude in our privacy at all. We flew into Malaga and hired a car, then used the toll highway to reach the cottage, the tolls are about 15 euros one way to the cottage but well worth it as the highway is fast and quiet. Just make sure you have euro change available , there are 3 toll booths between the airport and the cottage turn off. We visited Ronda, about an hourâs drive away through spectacular scenery, well worth a visit to this historic beautiful town. We had a truly wonderful holiday, it is the perfect place to unwind and recharge, we will be returning!

A little jewel of a hide-away in the Andalucian mountains!
We spent a week at this wonderful little place away from it all. It's an ideal place for a couple looking for a somewhere to be in peace and at ease. A place with a view down the valley and beyond, with just enough amenities to make you feel comfortable in a rustic, down-to-earth way. And with a wonderful, secluded pool all to yourselves on top of that. For those in fond of hikes in nature, the area has a lot to offer: paths and trails crisscross the nature reserve surrounding the cottage. It's a rural area with sheep and goats roaming the hillsides, and you can be quite certain to be woken up at least one morning by the neighbour's rooster :-) The picturesque white village of Casares is three kms down the road / track from your place, and well worth to explore as well. And if you still long for city life, Marbella and Gibraltar are conveniently close by. The online booking with Kate the owner was totally hassle free and efficient. In short: a stay we utterly enjoyed, and highly recommend to others!
